Literature Text

Once upon a lonely grey time, there was a girl. She was pretty. She was thin. She was blond. She was athletic.

She should’ve have lots of friends. She should’ve have lots of talent. She should’ve been close to her family.

She should’ve been.

But she wasn’t.

She was lonely. She was lackluster. She was distant from her family.

She didn’t think she was pretty. She didn’t think she was thin enough. She didn’t think that her blond hair was pretty. She didn’t think she was that athletic.

But she was.

She was lonely.

She was suffering.

She sat alone. She ate alone. She played alone. She scratched her self. She cried herself to sleep.

A friend asked her if something was wrong.

She said she was fine.

But she wasn’t.

She was hurt.

She was betrayed.

But then some one smiled

Then she smiled. Then she talked. Then she laughed. Then she was talented. Then she knew she was pretty. Then she knew she was thin. Then she knew that she didn’t need to wear a mask any more.

Then she threw the mask away.
*takes a deep breath*

This story was inspired by this: [link] but also by my life. Although this is fiction, it is based off of things that have happened to me and that I've been through.

This has such a deep meaning to it that I don't even know where to start. So I've decided that I'm not going to, but that I will say, it was hell. It hurt and no one should be in that situation. But so so many of us are. And we are so hurt by thinking 'I'm not pretty enough, not good enough, not fast enough.' that we forget that no one is perfect. So many say 'Oh it's impossible to be perfect' but they don't believe it. And so they keep living a lie that mask themselves from the rest of the world and so they live their lives in abandonment. It hurts, Oh I know it hurts, but taking off the mask can be so wonderful.

Any faves are much appreciated (but only if it really touches you). Due to how personal this is to me, no comments. :)

Then she threw the mask away.
